​​​Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements

The joint Australian, state and territory governments' Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) provide a range of financial assistance to the natural disaster-declared areas in each state or territory.

For Southern Queensland flooding, the available assistance measures may include:

  • personal hardship assistance scheme in the six (6) local government areas of:

Additional recovery assistance measures

Recovery grants of up to $75,000 are available for eligible primary producers to help with recovery and reinstatement activities These grants are available in the five (5) local government areas of Gympie, Lockyer Valley, Somerset, Southern Downs and Western Downs.

Recovery grants of up to $50,000 are available for eligible small businesses to help with recovery and reinstatement activities These grants are available in the eight (8) local government areas of Balonne, Gympie, Lockyer Valley, Moreton Bay, Somerset, Southern Downs, Toowoomba and Western Downs.

Additional recovery packages

Clean Up Package To assist state agencies and local councils with the clean-up, removal and disposal of flood-related debris in impacted communities.

Resilient Residential Recovery Package ​industry and community education program; resilient household rebuild program; home raising program; voluntary home buy-back program and property level flood information.​

Human and Social Recovery Package Flexible funding grants; community health and wellbeing package; accommodation package; and a community development program.

Economic Recovery Package Industry recovery and resilience officers; small business support package; tourism recovery and resilience package; rural landholder recovery grant program; and medium to large business recovery loans.

Environmental Recovery Package Environmental recovery package; and flood risk management package.

Infrastructure and Built Recovery Package Community and recreational assets program; betterment for roads and transport assets; and local recovery and resilience grants.
