The recovery efforts for the Queensland (Qld) floods will be a slow and complex process, with volunteers required to help in the weeks and months to come.
Volunteering Qld maintains continual contact with key disaster management agencies and will notify registered volunteers as new opportunities to help become available. This information is available from Volunteering Qld's Community Response to Extreme Weather (CREW) page.

Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA)
This assistance is provided through the joint Australian and State Government's Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) and applies to the natural disaster declared areas in each state.

The Prime Minister also announced on 27 January 2011 a $2 billion advance payment under the NDRRA to the Queensland Government. With this money rebuilding can start in more than 60 flood-affected communities across Queensland.
