Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA)
This assistance is provided through the joint Australian and State Government Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements(NDRRA). NDRRA assistance was made available for the Local Government Areas of West Arnhem Shire, East Arnhem Shire, Katherine Municipality, Roper Gulf Shire, and Victoria Daly Shire.
Joint Commonwealth/State assistance made available under NDRRA included:
- personal hardship and distress assistance for individuals and families including:
- immediate hardship grants
- temporary accommodation grants
- essential household contents grants
- essential household repairs grants, and
- emotional or psychological support
- short term concessional loans of up to $100,000 to primary producers and small businesses
- restoration of essential public infrastructure (roads and bridges), and
- certain counter disaster operations.
