Disaster Recovery Payment
The Disaster Recovery Payment (DRP) is to provide one-off financial assistance to eligible Australians adversely affected by the disaster in the Local Government Areas of the Adelaide Hills, Barossa, Playford and Tea Tree Gully in the Mount Lofty Ranges region in South Australia.
The DRP rate is $1000 per eligible adult and $400 per eligible child. Claims for this payment can be lodged at the Department of Human Services (Centrelink) for a period of up to six months.
The DRP is available for people who have been seriously injured, who have lost their homes or whose homes have been directly damaged in these bushfires or the immediate family members of a person who has been killed.
You have until 6 July 2015 to lodge a claim for DRP for the Mount Lofty Ranges region.

Disaster Recovery Allowance
The Disaster Recovery Allowance (DRA) will provide income support payments to employees, primary producers and sole traders who can demonstrate they have experienced a loss of income as a direct result of the Sampson Flat Bushfire in South Australia. The allowance has been made available to individuals in the Local Government Areas of the Adelaide Hills, Barossa, Playford and Tea Tree Gully in the Mount Lofty Ranges region in South Australia.
The allowance provides fortnightly payments for up to thirteen weeks equivalent to the applicable rate of Newstart or Youth Allowance, depending on the person's circumstances.
The DRA is available to Australian residents who are sixteen years of age or older.
The allowance is not available to those already receiving another income support payment or pension such as Age Pension, Newstart Allowance, Service Pension or Exceptional Circumstances Relief Payment.
You have until 6 July 2015 to lodge a claim for DRA in the Mount Lofty Ranges.

This applies to SCV holders in eligible disaster-declared Local Government Areas of the Adelaide Hills, Barossa, Playford and Tea Tree Gully in the Mount Lofty Ranges region in South Australia.
The payment rate is $1000 per eligible adult and $400 per eligible child. Claims for this payment can be lodged at the Department of Human Services (Centrelink) for a period of up to six months.

Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements
The joint Australian, state and territory governments' Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) provide a range of financial assistance to the natural disaster declared areas in each state or territory.
For the Sampson Flat and Tantanoola bushfires, which commenced on 2 January 2015, the available funding includes:
- personal hardship and distress
- counter disaster operations
- restoration of essential public assets
in the affected local government areas of:
- Adelaide Hills (activated for the Sampson Flat bushfire)
- Playford (activated for the Sampson Flat bushfire)
- Tea Tree Gully (activated for the Sampson Flat bushfire)
- Wattle Range (activated for the Tantanoola bushfire).
Additionally, personal and financial counselling has been made available in Adelaide Hills, Playford, and Tea Tree Gully.
