Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements

The joint Australian, state and territory governments' Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) provide a range of financial assistance to the natural disaster-declared areas in each state or territory.

For the flooding which occurred between 16-19 October 2017, the available assistance measures include:

  • Counter disaster operations for the local government areas of:
    • Bundaberg
    • Gladstone
    • North Burnett
  • Restoration of essential public assets for the local government areas of:
    • Bundaberg
    • Fraser Coast
    • Gladstone
    • North Burnett
  • Personal hardship and distress assistance for the local government area of:
    • Gladstone (certain parts only)
  • Demolition or rebuilding to restore housing to a habitable condition for the local government area of:
    • Gladstone (certain parts only)
  • Removal of debris from residential properties to make them safe and habitable for the local government areas of:
    • Bundaberg
    • Gladstone
    • North Burnett
  • Personal and financial counselling for the local government area of:
    • Bundaberg
    • Gladstone
    • North Burnett
  • Concessional interest rate loans for primary producers for the local government areas of:
    • Bundaberg
    • Gladstone
    • North Burnett
  • Freight subsidies to primary producers for the local government areas of:
    • Bundaberg
    • Gladstone
    • North Burnett
  • Grants to needy individuals for the local government area of:
    • Gladstone (certain parts only)

Category C Assistance

Exceptional circumstances recovery grants of up to $25,000 are available for eligible primary producers in the local government areas of North Burnett, as well as certain parts of Bundaberg.
