On 15 September 2017 at approximately 8.20 am (local time) an improvised explosive device (IED) placed on a train at Parsons Green Station in London exploded, resulting in injuries to 30 people, including one Australian.
Australian Victim of Terrorism Overseas Payment
On 23 November 2017, the Prime Minister declared the terrorist attack at Parsons Green Station, London for the purposes of the Australian Victim of Terrorism Overseas Payment (AVTOP) scheme. This means that Australian residents harmed as a direct result of the attack at Parsons Green Station, London, may seek or share in a one-off payment of financial assistance of up to $75,000.
