Queensland Floods (January 2012) - Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment (AGDRP)

The payment is to provide one-off financial assistance to eligible Australians adversely affected by the disaster in the following Local Government Areas (LGAs) of:

The AGDRP rate is $1,000 per eligible adult and $400 per eligible child. Claims for this payment can be lodged at the Department of Human Services (Centrelink) until 6 August 2012, as application for the payment is available for a period of up to six months.

Commonwealth AGDRP and Ex Gratia Expenditure

Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA)

The joint Commonwealth and State/Territory Government NDRRA can provide a range of financial assistance to the natural disaster declared areas in each state.

NDRRA funding following the severe thunderstorms and associated flooding that commenced on the 27 January 2012 is available to the 25 LGAs of: Balonne, Banana, Barcaldine, Barcoo, Blackall-Tambo, Bulloo, Burke, Carpentaria, Central Highlands, Cloncurry, Doomadgee, Flinders, Goondiwindi, Isaac, Longreach, McKinlay, Maranoa, Mt Isa, Murweh, Paroo, Quilpie, Richmond, Tablelands, Western Downs and Winton.

Funding available includes:

Counter disaster operations assistance in the 18  LGAs of:

Personal hardship and distress assistance and Essential Services Safety and Reconnection Scheme in the seven LGAs of:

Assistance for the restoration of essential public assets in the 24 LGAs of:

Concessional loans for "not-for-profit" organisations, small businesses and primary producers in the seven LGAs of:
