Western Australia Tropical Cyclone Heidi and Associated Flooding (11 January 2012)
Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA)
The joint Commonwealth and State/Territory Government NDRRA can provide a range of financial assistance to the natural disaster declared areas in each state.
NDRRA funding following Tropical Cyclone Heidi that commenced on the 11 January 2012 is available to the eight Local Government Areas of: Broome, East Pilbara, Leonora, Meekatharra, Port Hedland, Sandstone, Upper Gascoyne and Wiluna.
Funding available (for all LGA’s) includes:
- Personal hardship and distress assistance
- Restoration of essential public assets
- Certain counter disaster operations
- Interest rate subsidies for loans of up to $150,000 for small businesses and primary producers, and
- Professional advice grants, restoration of boundary fences and freight subsidies for primary producers.
