Western Australia Severe Thunderstorms and Associated Flooding (30 and 31 December 2011)
Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA)
This assistance is provided through the joint Commonwealth and State Government Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) and applies to the natural disaster declared areas in each state.
NDRRA assistance has been made available for the Shires of Cuballing, Dumbleyung, Katanning, Kent, Wandering, and Wickepin.
Joint Commonwealth/State assistance made available under NDRRA includes:
- Personal Hardship and Distress grants for individuals and families
- for small businesses – interest rate subsidies on loans
- for primary producers – assistance may be available toward freight costs, restoration of boundary fences (where public safety is at risk), professional advice grants and interest rate subsidies, and
- for local governments and state government agencies – clean-up costs and the repair and restoration of essential public assets including local road damage.
