Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA)
The joint Commonwealth and State/Territory Government NDRRA can provide a range of financial assistance to the natural disaster declared areas in each state.
NDRRA funding following the damaging winds and heavy rainfall that commenced on the 3 and 4 February 2012 is available to the eight Local Government Areas (LGAs) of: Aurukun, Kowanyama, Lockhart River, Mapoon, Napranum, Northern Peninsula, Pormpuraaw and Torres Strait Islands.
Funding available includes:
- Restoration of essential public assets for the LGAs of:
- Aurukun
- Kowanyama
- Lockhart River
- Mapoon
- Napranum
- Northern Peninsula
- Pormpuraaw, and
- Torres Strait Islands.
- Counter Disaster Operations in the LGA of:
- Kowanyama
