Disaster Income Recovery Subsidy (DIRS)
The Disaster Income Recovery Subsidy (DIRS) was made available until 31 March 2011.
Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA)
This assistance is provided through the joint Australian and State Government Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) and applies to the natural disaster declared areas in each state.
NDRRA assistance has been made available for areas affected by flooding that occurred on 11 January 2011 in the following 11 local government areas of Break O’Day, Burnie, Central Coast, Devonport, Dorset, Kentish, Latrobe, Meander, Northern Midlands, Warratah-Wynyard and West Tamar.
NDRRA assistance includes:
- personal hardship and distress assistance, including
- temporary living expenses
- essential household items grants
- repair, restoration and clean up grants
- restoration of essential public assets, and
- clean-up and recovery grants of up to $25,000 for small businesses, primary producers and charitable and not-for-profit sector organisations impacted by the flash floods and the riverine flooding
