Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA)
The joint Commonwealth and State/Territory Government NDRRA can provide a range of financial assistance to the natural disaster declared areas in each state.
NDRRA assistance following the 28 February 2011 monsoonal flooding is available to the 14 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of
- Barcoo
- Boulia
- Bulloo
- Burke
- Carpentaria
- Cloncurry
- Cook
- Diamantina
- Doomadgee
- Hinchinbrook
- Mornington
- Quilpie
- Tablelands and
- Townsville.
Funding available includes:
- restoration or replacement of essential public assets is available in the 13 LGAs of Barcoo, Boulia, Bulloo, Burke, Carpentaria, Cloncurry, Diamantina, Doomadgee, Hinchinbrook, Mornington, Quilpie, Tablelands and Townsville
- concessional interest rate loans of up to $250,000 for eligible small business and primary producers is available in the two LGAs of Barcoo and Diamantina
- certain counter-disaster operations are available in all areas.
