Financial Assistance under the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA)
Financial assistance was provided to the nine declared natural disaster areas of Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Wingecarribee, Shoalhaven, Eurobodalla, Tumut, Gundagai and Tumbarumba shires through the joint Commonwealth and state government NDRRA.
Funding included assistance for the restoration of essential public infrastructure and relief operations, as well as personal hardship and distress assistance through NDRRA including:
- Personal hardship and distress (PHD) grants to eligible individuals and families whose homes and essential household items have been destroyed or damaged.
- Concessional loans of up to $25,000 for voluntary, non-profit organisations.
- Concessional loans of up to $130,000 for small businesses and primary producers, and
- Road and rail freight subsidies of up to $15,000 to assist primary producers for the carriage of livestock and fodder.
