New South Wales Severe Weather (July 2011)
Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA)
This assistance is provided through the joint Australian and State government Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) and applies to the natural disaster declared areas in each State.
NDRRA assistance for the July 2011 severe weather event has been made available for the 8 local government areas of: Blue Mountains, Kiama, Lithgow, Oberon, Shellharbour, Shoalhaven, Wingecarribee and Wollongong.
NDRRA assistance includes:
- personal hardship and distress assistance
- certain counter disaster operations
- restoration of essential public assets
- concessional loans of up to $130,000 for eligible small businesses and primary producers
- concessional loans of up to $25,000 for eligible voluntary, not-for-profit organisations, and
- transport freight subsidies of up to $15,000 to assist primary producers for the carriage of livestock and fodder.
Individuals suffering from personal hardship as a result of the flooding may be eligible for emergency assistance. Enquires in relation to this assistance should be directed to the Emergency Management NSW website.
