New South Wales Floods (June 2011)
Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA)
This assistance is provided through the joint Australian and State government Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) and applies to the natural disaster declared areas in each state.
NDRRA assistance for the June 2011 flooding event has been made available for the 21 local government areas of: Armidale Dumaresq, Bellingen, Cessnock, Clarence Valley, Coffs Harbour, Dungog, Glen Innes- Severn, Gloucester, Great Lakes, Greater Taree, Guyra, Kempsey, Maitland, Muswellbrook, Nambucca, Port Macquarie-Hastings, Port Stephens, Singleton, Upper Hunter, Walcha and Wyong.
NDRRA assistance includes:
- personal hardship and distress assistance
- certain counter disaster operations
- restoration of essential public assets
- concessional loans of up to $130,000 for eligible small businesses and primary producers
- concessional loans of up to $25,000 for eligible voluntary, not-for-profit organisations, and
- transport freight subsidies of up to $15,000 to assist primary producers for the carriage of livestock and fodder.
Individuals suffering from personal hardship as a result of the flooding may be eligible for emergency assistance. Enquires in relation to this assistance should be directed to the Emergency Management NSW website.
On 10 August 2011 ‘Category C’ clean-up and recovery grants of up to $15,000 were made available under the NDRRA for eligible small businesses and primary producers within the local government areas of Clarence Valley, Coffs Harbour, Bellingen, Nambucca, Kempsey, Port Macquarie-Hastings, Greater Taree and Gloucester as a result of the 12-15 June 2011 flood event.
