Financial assistance for flooding in New South Wales
Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA)
On 16 October 2010, the Commonwealth Government announced the provision of financial assistance to communities affected by flooding in New South Wales.
This assistance was provided through the joint Commonwealth and State government NDRRA and applies to Albury, Bland, Carrathool, Conargo, Coolamon, Corowa, Greater Hume, Gundagai, Hay, Jerilderie, Junee, Leeton, Lockhart, Murrumbidgee, Narrandera, Tumbarumba, Tumut, Urana and Wagga Wagga.
NDRRA funding includes assistance for the restoration of essential public infrastructure and relief operations, as well as personal hardship and distress assistance, including:
Personal hardship and distress (PHD) grants to eligible individuals and families whose homes and essential household items have been damaged or destroyed.
- Concessional loans of up to $130,000 for eligible small businesses and primary producers. Enquiries should be directed to the NSW Rural Assistance Authority on 1800 678 593;
Concessional loans of up to $25,000 for voluntary, non-profit organisations.
- Transport freight subsidies of up to 50 per cent to assist primary producers for the carriage of livestock and fodder, and
- Clean up and recovery grants of up to $15,000 for small businesses and primary producers.
