During the Middle East Crisis in July 2006, the Australian Government provided extensive assistance for Australians seeking to leave Lebanon. This assistance included evacuation, consular assistance, crisis management, personal support and reception assistance. An Australian Government helpline on support available during the conflict was also established for people seeking information. This helpline has now closed. If you have inquiries regarding cost recovery letters relating to the evacuation, you can call the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade on (02) 6261 2022.
